I need a louver for my fan (almost spelled lover

). I was wondering what everyone else is using and where they got it.
I am thinking of just making it out of some of my spare aluminum sheeting.
Anyone?

i found some round aluminum louvers(come in different sizes) and some flat bugscreened, louvered vents at the hardware store.

How do they work for you?
Here is yet another CAD drawing of a layout I'm going to try when I get home.
I love to fabricate.

I'm going to steal all your cad design plans and send them to my cousin, he works in one of them metal working shops with all the expensive as hell computer guided metal cutting machines.

Don't steal them. I'll give them to you in full 100% quality drawings or CAD files. I really don't care. I make so many CAD drawings at work (where I'm at right now) so fast that I can make anything that you want, 3D anyone?

I was joking, but I do want to cad out an entire box out for metal and see if my cousin can make it. But I have to find the time for that, and figure out how not to electricute myself if i touch the box.

Diamond plate alluminum would look nice.

glad MDF doesn't conduct electricity.

Would be slightly smaller but I'm not sure if the heat conductive properties would be a problem.
And I dont know how heavy MDF is, but my plywood is pretty weighty.

MDF is like a slate of wood. It weighs alot! Reason is is b/c its so compressed.

Darkroom supplies would be perfect as they are designed to block light. Not sure how much it restricts airflow however.

That's pretty good. However I like my coldcut slicer. IT works perfect and looks sharp when I painted it black.

Looks good Jeremy...let me know if you get any weird whistling effects or anything. I have a two year old son or else I would follow your lead.

when I ran it, it actually decreased the sound of the fan, even though it felt like it was pushing the same amount of air.
You will have trouble keeping your 2 yr old out of the fan either way you go. I'm thinking about getting some rubber edging they use on car door edges to keep from scratching the door. I will put these on the louver edges to keep it from cutting anyone and make it look a little bit better. But when I painted it and filed it (switch the order) the edges became very dull. The door edging would be for decor mostly.
