Does anyone know the recommended requirements for ffdshow? I have been searching their website, but can't seem to stumble across them.
I am using an AMD 800 mhz machine right now to run the projector, but I don't know if that is enough horsepower to run ffdshow.
I have 512 Mb of RAM, and an Nvidia card for video. I can't remember the exact Nvidia card right now (I'm at work).
Thanks for any help-

The easiest way to tell is to download it and try it out. (it's free) You can download the DeScaler 5 codec (also free) to use with it. The settings in ffdshow vary widely, and as such, they allow it to be as CPU intensive as you want (to some point). Be sure to activate the OSD so you can see what % of the CPU is being used.

I use my old AMD 900 ATHLON with 512 megs of ram and a geforce ti 4200.I only use resize 1024x768, luma and chroma sharpen and it works great.

Where do you get them from? I downloaded ffdshow but when I play a movie, (powerdvd) I still don't see anything. Any advice?
Found out the answers, thanks all...

I highly doubt your PC will handle using ffdshow. I use a sempron 2800 processor and it can only do a resize to 1024*768 and use a few filters without maxing out.
To use it, you need to download zoomplayer pro. With this you can set up ffdshow and dscaler. I believe "Benchun" has the site required to download zoomplayer in his PLOG.
I am fairly sure you do not need Zoomplayer Pro, many players are capable of using the ffdshow codec.
I have been using Winamp with ffdshow and, although I havnt tried it with DVDs, it works for all the video files I have played on it.
Its easy to find out if your media player is using ffdshow or not, you just need to enable the OSD!
