Anyone have an LCD in their projector that has a 25ms response time? And do you have any noticable lag while gaming?
SupraGuy
I have a 17" LCD monitor with a rated 25ms response. It blurs when you pan quickly, and sometimes you can lose the crosshairs in a "target rich environment" but overall, it's acceptable. It would bug me on a larger screen.

My projector LCD is 16ms, which is fine.

Well I'm going to be building a 17" projector and I was gonna use the Dell 1704FPV because it has a 1000:1 contrast ration. But I don't want any blurring while gaming so would you say it would be better to go with the Samsung 712N which has a response time of 12ms but has 600:1 constrast ratio? Would the constrast trade off be worth it?

600:1 contrast is very exceptable. I thought the dell had dvi output too though? I know the samsung doesnt or I would have bought one already. I still may but I am kind of contemplating the same thing as you, dont want ghosting in halo, or ghost recon.

I'd go with the 12ms panel for gaming. The 600:1 contrast is more than adequate.

Would there be a noticable difference between 600:1 and 1000:1?

Actually... Probably not. There SHOULD be, but I can look at a pair of LCD monitors in a store with those contrast ratios side by side, and not see a difference.

Any slight difference that it may make will be more than overcome by the faster response time. I can clearly see a difference when gaming between my 25ms 17" LCD and my 12ms 17" LCD. Thought he 25ms panel is acceptable, the 12ms panel is excellent. (Similar contrast ratios)
