I have played xbox and pc games on both 16ms and 25ms and couldnt really tell a difference? I dont think I have actually witnessed ghosting on a lcd before? I have seen many say dont buy a lcd for games at 25ms and have never had a problem with a nec that had 25ms. Do people really think that there is ghosting or issues at 25ms? Some companys add the response times together and obviously that would alter the speeds and who knows who is really doing this and who isnt? I am concerned because I primarily play fps and do not want to get one and have a problem has anyone really witnessed issues on 25ms?

I've had the pleasure of a Viewsonic pf95 19 inch crt monitor with my settings at max and it was an awesome picture. I bought a Dell fp1702 for my pj and it is 16ms. When I started using it I noticed right away the brightness from the explosions and such were toned down using the lcd. A crystal clear picture but toned down if you can understand what I mean. (like glossy vs semi-gloss) I almost went back to the Viewsonic but I gave it a second chance and hoped it'd grow on me. I experienced some ghosting (slight blur) on the lower resolution 1028x768 while playing. I was upset a little but I now know that the lcd's are meant to be set on the recommended high settings. After setting the lcd to 1280x1024 32 bit color and also in the game, The slight ghosting went away I thought to myself if the 16ms one ghosted a little then the 25ms would be worse. This is the first lcd I've used. Like I said the Viewsonic had much more brightness set at 120mhz refresh rate. I'm still using the lcd monitor waiting for the new pro lenses. I'll buy a newer 8ms or 12ms lcd next time. Gaming is all I do ,except lumenlab. smile.gif

I've played F-Zero gx on gamecube. A high speed futeristic racing game. The ultimate response time test. At 25ms response I kept banging into the walls. 16ms I was able to race with little trouble.

Personally I can't stand low response times.. smile.gif
And 25ms is very slow on my scale, 16ms is ok - but only because ther are no sub 16ms 15" screens...

Btw, to test your screens use some test prog like "Pixel Persistence Analyzer":

I am on a Dell 19in LCD at work right now, with a 25ms response time, and I see ghosting anytime I drag a window around, but that's all I notice. I haven't tried to game on it though, I'd probably get in trouble for playing quake3 at work....

so basically it sounds like 16ms is a the highest id want to go thanks.

More like the best you'll find. I think there are a few 15 or 14 ms lcds but I doubt thats a significant differance. 16 ms should be enough.
