I've got a BenQ FP567 Version 1 (the white one!). Is this usable or not? If anyone has any info on stripping it, it would be appreciated!

Hi richie83

I've been searching for stuff on V1 Benq monitors for the last hour. That's how I found this post. It seems that V1s were used a lot before the V2 came out. Then everybody got concerned as they were unsure if the V2 would strip as easily as the V1 did. I think the findings were that the V2 has slightly longer FFCs.

From what I read I'd say you'll have no problems with V1 stripping. And neither will I.

I just replied to your original post on this also. smile.gif

I remember from the "compatible monitors list" that v1 was not good and v2 was fine. I can't confirm this other that the v2 is fine.

I believe the V1 had difficulties with FFC's, but not positive. I remember seeing some posts that said to make sure to get a V2, as V1 had FFC problems.

I've attempted stripping the V1 and have gotten down to the basic LCD, and indeed the FFC is a pain. It looks like it can be extended with an 18 contact 0.5 pitch FFC from the store, but I'm not going to bother. Have got a second hand Dell 1505FPT which I heard was easy to strip, and even better it has DVI plus USB power for fans.
