hi all,
i have read all the plogs on making a sled to slide the fresnels and lcd backwards and forwards, dont understand how you can seal everything and still have it move,
as i understand it you are supposed to have a half inch raise off the bottom that goes as far as the lcd for cool air to come in through the slot in the top of the box and goes out through the fans and everything is sealed tight shut after the lcd panel, perhaps i have got it wrong but would appreciate some feed back from anyone who has used this method.
thank's in advance.
I've used the sled design and your description sounds good. My sled includes the slot on the top with my top being a two piece (front projection area | light area) which has a gap to allow air into the slot on the sled. My collimating fresnel has approx. 1/2" gap under it. The sled is about 2mm smaller in width than the box itself. Once the sled is positioned, I used duct tape to elliminate air/light leakage between the sled and the box. (not much there anyway) Weather stripping on the top of the sled elliminates air leakage once the covers are closed.
