I have an unpowered subwoofer that I want to hook up to my stereo reciever. The reciever has a single rca input for the subwoofer. The subwoofer has the standard 2 wires. I know I can use an adapter to get it to work but is there an issue of the speaker being unpowered? The reciever is a Yamaha R-V503.
Thanx

Most receivers output to a powered sub. If your receiver is listed for a pre-amped sub which most are, you will need something to drive the woofer. Look at www.partsexpress.com they have lots on in-expensive sub amps.

Squeeky's right. If your receiver only outputs to a powered sub you will need something to drive the unpowered sub. If you can find a cheap/old receiver you can use it to power the sub.
