Was browing some news articles over at THG and found this. It seems Albatron is coming out with an adapter board. Plug you AGP card into the board, and the board into your PCI Express slot. I have no clue how this will actually fit in the case, pretty cool though.

May help encourage those who have expensive AGP cards move to a newer board/processor without having to upgrade all the expensive stuff.

yes but for it to work you have to have the cpu power to back it up and unless its less then $30 i would push towards a mobo/cpu combo with 8x agp if your gonna spend $150+ on a video card

Great way to void your warranty and trash your board & card.

There are plenty of kick @55 AGP boards out there.
like my DFI LP875P-T LGA775 board.

besides, everyone knows that AGP is still better for OCing. biggrin.gif

I wonder what this card would do to a natively PCI-e video card like the 6600GT(AGP)... which requires extra 'down converter' chips on it to play with AGP.

it would be like a super bottleneck...
6600GT pci-e --> PCI-e to AGP MUX --> AGP BUS --> AGP to PCI-e MUX --> PCI-e BUS.

edit:
there are some sick @55 cards out for PCI-e now... like the X800XL PCI-e w00t!
..and the 850XT of course
