Hi guys, does anyone know if the eposure to high amount of lumens and the radiation (if any) may affect the panel and the lenses in the long run? would it produce any "yellowness", or something worst?
Thanks for any info you might give.

i think that its the uv that damages the lcd the most and this is why we use a uv filter before the lens

Yes either a UV filter + tempered or Lexan (built in UV coating) is what is needed.

I could be wrong, but there are a lot of people who do not use a UV filter. I think the outer bulb jacket usually has a UV filter in it anyways.
I do not use an additional UV filter. However, if you are worried about it then a uv filter probably wouldn't hurt. It may decrease overall brightness, but it wouldn't hurt.

Those who use Lexan dont need a UV filter since most Lexan filters UV, but those with glass will still need the UV filter because the lamp itself still emits enough to damage the LCD even if it has the outer jacket.
