Put the name focus enhancements cs-hd in a froogle.com search, a few will show up under $200. Almost all of them carry no stock on them. I asked avrdeals.com ($214.00) they said there is a two week lead. I'm haven't seen the quality but from what I've read on avrforums and a couple other sites it's well worth the price. I haven't found anything as close as for that price except a Startech vid2vga,
http://www.startech.com/ststore/ItemDetail...VGATV&tab=a&mt= but I can't find a single review on it. I suspect either of these products are better than the N6

Are you planning on buying a CS-HD? I would be very interested in the quality of it. I am just thinking maybe it would be better to just put the money into an HTPC (although a scaler would be cheaper and more family-friendly).

I have tried to force a 16:9 screen on my hyundai l72s lcd, but no luck. I was able to force 1024x576, but the monitor stretches it automatically. I have tried the resolution in a resolution, but still no luck. If anyone finds a way to force a 16:9 screen on this lcd please let me know. Also the cs-hd has a max resolution of 576p.

Here are the settings I used in powerstrip.
PowerStrip timing parameters:
1280x720=1280,56,112,240,720,153,3,190,125933,1
Generic timing details for 1280x720:
HFP=56 HSW=112 HBP=240 kHz=75 VFP=153 VSW=3 VBP=190 Hz=70
Linux modeline parameters:
"1280x720" 125.933 1280 1336 1448 1688 720 873 876 1066 +hsync +vsync
Just copy and paste.

The L72D probably is the same. From what I've read, they say it is basically the same only with DVI.
Thanks venery.

So has anyone tried using a VDigi or similar device on the L72S? Do you think it would work on this monitor?

Has anyone tried to pull the anti-glare off of this monitor? After pulling the AG off my buddies CMV 529a, and seeing the result, this is a HUGE deciding factor for me.

I am going to try it soon, probably in the next week. I''ll probably try the stripper method first as my lcd is not getting out of its frame easily, I would have preferred to try with the rag soak method if i could. I will post the results in the extreme mods section when i have done it.
Cheers

I pulled off the antiglare on this monitor. I used the soak method, but it left a little bit of film behind.

Venery99,
did you try removing the "film" or didn't it affect the quality of the image too much? I'm going to try the tape and strip method. Fingers crossed!

Also is the polarizer immune to the paint stripper on LCD, or do you just have to be really careful?

I used selleys kwik strip on my l72s and as long as you don't get the stripper spilling over the edge so it can creep between the layers it should be fine. I put a few coats on stripper on my AG and it cleaned up well with methylated spirits. remember to sand before you try strip

Check the extreme mods forum for more info.

Just got my monitor in and look looks GREAT, I know it is gonna make a goo d PJ LCD. The contrast and colors look great, no dead pixels, and no backlight bleeding, even with brightness jacked to 100. Can't wait to strip it, but I will wait till my len's get here, right now it is my primary monitor with a sony 17 crt as my "extended desktop second" and my other sony collecting dust.

Since it's pretty much related, i thought i'd pop by and mention that i have a very very similar monitor (L70-S), only i'm attempting to power the driver board directly using the 4 pin power sockets on a normal PC PSU, i've mapped most of the connector from the power/inverter board to the lcd driver, and the pins are as follows :
Pin 1 : 12v+
Pin 2 : 5v+
Pin 3 : 5v+
Pin 5 : GND
Pin 6 : GND
Pin 7 : ??
Pin 8 : ??
I believe pin 7 is PWR and pin 8 is BRT (Brightness).
When power is applied using pins 1 to 6, the monitor light comes on green briefly, then switches to amber, however the monitor detects just fine (model number/max res) on the computer.. when the VGA cable is disconnected, the screen comes on (green light) with the 'no signal' message.
Any ideas?

Okay ignore that, switched to another driver board and it works just fine.
running just 12v, 5v and gnd from a normal pc molex works flawlessly,

just to note im using a OHP for testing, will build a proper unit when im satisfied with the electrical side of things.
