I ordered the 522a stripped it down without any problems. The only problem I had with this monitor was that the cables where attached to the board and a little short. I tested it out on an overhead and it worked fine until I broke the fcc that is smile.gif. I now have a brand new screen and controler board it was my stupid mistake but I'm looking for a brand new monitor either the 522A again or the 520D they appear to be using the same specs based on images I have seen in here. Would anyone know if the boards on these two monitors are compatible?

Oh and just to let everyone know trying to be brave and fix a broken fcc is a futile paintstaking ordeal ( I got mines to smoke) The 522a from newegg is nice just don't work on it if you are tired or arguing with the wife.

Personally, i'd go with the 520D to have both DVI and VGA at my disposal. On paper the specs are nearly identical but 520D owners are reporting a higher quality picture via the DVI input.

Otherwise they both seem to be nice monitors. I'm personally using a benQ 591 but i still have an unstripped 522A and the picture on it is excellent imho.

People also seem to like the 529A even more than the 522A.

3 decent choices but i'd personally go with the 520D for the reasons stated above. Remember to be a little more careful this time wink.gif, especially with ESD (static), which can kill components outright, or torture it with a slow death ph34r.gif

Thanks for the info guess it all depends on preference I have an avervideo5 tv tuner it has some nice specs but I'll have to wait at least a month or two before getting another CMV 522a.
