I have that exact model. It's a great receiver.

Interesting, thats really cheap, thats a steal.

I wouldn't mind grabbing one and using the component outputs to hook up to my WUXGA screen. Problem is all the ones on ebay (including the one Squeeky bought) do NOT include the remote.

Shrivel, does a normal Universal Remote work on this reciever? Or does it require a special remote? Please let me know I may grab one!

If you have a new HD Cable Box from your cable provider, you could try the firewire route and see how that works out for ya.

I don't have a HD cable box...my provider lacks channels. I think they have like HBO, SHOWTIME, ESPN, DISCOVERY, and INHD. All for the low price of $20 a month!...no thanks

Anyways, does anyone know if I need a proprietary remote for that box or if I can use my standard universal remote?

HDTV receivers for cheap.  ...  HDT100 for under $25 shipped.

Squeeky, or any other HD settop box guys,
...is this model hackable? ie. hook it up to firewire to download HD video content?

In HD tuner news. I picked up the Fusion ThreeT Gold card for $150. This card is great! too bad I had to take it to phoenix, az to pick up any channels. ...where I live in California, I can't get any channels with my whimpy antenna.
