Anyone ever get dead pixels? I have combed the forums but havn't found mention of it...

My FP557 got a red one, however it seems intermittent. (dissapears as soon as the projector warms up, unless i press on the screen.

For those of you who do have dead pixels, what do you do about it? Is it noticible?

People do get dead pixels. There is some technique for trying to massage the pixel. It sounds pretty dangerous to me, but it involves something like swirling your finger in circles around and on the pixel. DO NOT ATTEMPT IT FROM THAT DESCRIPTION. Try looking it up on google or in the search. Dead pixel massage or something like that.

I don't have any dead pixels, but I accidently put a big spot of silicone on my screen. It is very noticeable, but there is nothing I can do about it. I do not have the money that I want to spend to buy a new lcd and I can still watch movies. My one spot projects black over the space of about 40-60 pixels. It was an unfortunate mistake. I still enjoy my projector though. The spot is in the mid left of my screen and is not right in the center.

If you got lucky and your dead pixel is by the top or bottom, you could make blinds that cover those spaces when you are watching widescreen movies. Is the pixel in the center part of the image?

Its in the right top-ish. So I can cover it when watching a widescreen movie. Good idea, thanks :-)
