I've built my very first projector and I'm having a problem the 1022b 120V S400DD Ultimate Light Kit and I have a green tint coming from the bulb even after running for an hour anyone have an idea how to correct this problem? Its more green when going threw the lcd monitor but is still slightly green when the monitor is not even in the projector.

How long has the light been running?
Mine was a bit green during the first few hours of break-in but seems to have settled down to more of a white colour. If you have more than 10 hours on the bulb and its still green then not sure what you can do.

The LCD will filter the green very well so you might just be able to turn down the green level on the default RGB level. I'm using the same bulb and have measured the Green levels at about 5% too high. I can just drop my RGB at the monitor to correct for bad bulb colour.

I've ran the bulb for probably 5hrs so maybe it will correct itself

Also after running the bulb for 10 mins then unpluging the ballast and pluging it back in it tends to be less green but takes a min or two to power up again.

The thing about this though is our lighting rigs are not made for that kind of a short burn before shuting it off. The deposits in the envelope need to get up to temp and run for a bit in the gas state. Doing short burns will prob. reduce the bulb life, speed of firing, and output. Also you need to allow the restrike time to pass before firing the bulb again so you don't damage it. You should plan on a day when you can break in the bulb. I have a couple of bulbs and have broken them in with a 10 hour burn. This corected the tinting and the bulb fires every time within 5 sec.

See how many responses you got on your own thread? Good luck!

Let the bulb run for 5hrs. Something is definitly wrong the bulb isn't bright at all, I can look right at it and it is still very green.

Recheck your wiring and connection. I believe 18ga minimum wire, blue is neutral. Are connections good? Lamp socket making good contact?

I agree that something is wrong. You should not be able to look directly at the bulb without wrecking your eyes very quickly.

Did you try the rewire?
ARD
No I haven't tried to rewire or anything I'll run some test on it this weekend.
