those are nice... I like the house siding idea! 
One Halloween I took an old sweatshirt, jeans, and approx 600 of those cd's, drilled a small hole in the central collar and attached them to the sweatshirt and pants like scales with safety pins in relatively short order, made a helmet out of a construction hat and cardboard superstructure also plastered with cd's... It was spectacular but heavy! blinded a few people too!
It was the most fun I've had at a massive halloween party (Ohio University: approx 70,000 partiers yearly) except maybe the year I went as the 17 foot totem pole or hmmmm, the year I went as "flavor ice man" completely wrapped in flavor ice. with a flavor ice crown... This is another fun project with all those cd's
