Sorry for the delayed responce Joe. I didnt realise you asked me a question.
My machine cost me 3.5k but you must remember it is servo driven, is real big and those are AU dollars. Probably 2.5k US Still beats many 10s of k's of dollars for a profesional one.

I like what you are doing in this forum. I am considering making one of your nicely shaped projectors. Why dont you post the gcode for it, or have you done so already?
If I could be bothered I would design a full mdf router kit that could be cut out of a full sized sheet. I am so lazy though. You dont want to do it for me?
I would send you a kit free of charge if you did. I would then be able to sell the kits for next to nix to potential hobbiests.
Sure no prob. you can make it for people over there, I'm in the US so it would cost people alot for shipping, but if they got it from you it would be cheaper, I wanted to build a small network of people to do it, where are you located exactly?
I will also send you a message...

But I could cover the whole county easy.
Sorry, are you agreeing to post the projector gcode or making the full cnc machine onto a full sheet or both. If you just sent me the DXF files for the stuff I could then make the gcode for all the stuff. You can email me directly to shoot.the.cat"@"gmail.com (lose the "" marks)

I Redid the footprint of the Bearing suport found out is slightly interfiered with the adjustment blocks for the Z Axis so cut them with a notch out of it, an "I" design.

Hey Joe, I cant see exactly what you have done, but a spring inbetween both the bolts and the smaller block been able to slide along the the bolts will allow conastant tension and you will not have to adjust the bolts.
Or is that what you have already done?

Looking good. Have you tried to drive the X axis yet?
Does the allthread have much whip when been driven at high speeds?
I hope this isnt a problem.
Yeh, Joe "shoot" me all the gcodes you have. I would love to follow you closely behind by making the same as yours.
EDIT: actually I would prefer the dxf files. That way I can put them all on one sheet to cut in one blow. Also I might cut 1 inch sheet insted of 3/4 .
I must do one upmanship.

the problem using 1" it would throw off distances, and the bearings and other things will not line up.
I will send what i have just as soon as i get it all put together, to double check everything.

Hey Rotor... , you could just buy a Haas box from Joe instead of building a router just to make one. That is unless you want to build a CNC anyway.

How the hell do you get away with having such a big file avatar. nearly 1meg, thats gotta break the internet record for that fattest avatar file ever. The main forum I belong to, has a maximum of 6k.

I just rebuilt it tonight for the final time after tweeking everything, it is a very tight machine, the all thread i use is 5/16" and at 30ipm no whiping at all.....
I use bearings on both ends, and switched to reinforced fuel line for motor couplers, and they work well.
I will take pictures of everything this weekend and post that way you can see how it all works together, and also update the solidworks file.

I'm a DIY geek, and even though I would love to have a CNC I can only think of a few things I would use it for, but I am sure there would be one day were I would get an idea for something and go "HOT DAMN I can do that because I have a CNC!"
Same reason being, in the beginning my friends would call me up and ask me to come over for a movie or even go out to the theatre, Then came the day where I said "nah I have a 16 foot TV in my livingroom that I built" needless to say they were stunned and I had to prove that it worked... Now they always come over here with a DVD and Beer.
As for the avatar being 1 meg, I have it hosted on my site and linked to here.

Here is a complete list and people can choose what they like depending on their built level
I'm looking forward to your feedback, Let me know what you think.....
1 - set, Tool Holder for Rotozip Upper and lower = $20.00 (does not include bolts)
3 - sets, Lead Screw Bearing supports = $30.00 (Does not incluse Bearings)
3 - sets Anti Backlash Nut w/ Tensioner = $15.00 (Includes Nuts 5/16")
4 - Small Adjustment Blocks = $16.00 (does not include 1" adjustment bolts)
4 - Medium Adjustment Blocks = $16.00 (does not include 1" adjustment bolts)
4 - Large Adjustment Blocks = $18.00 (does not include 1" adjustment bolts)
6 - Linear Alumn Bearing Block Suports = $35.00 for MDF and $45.00 for HDPE (3 sizes 2 ea., 8", 7.5" and 6")
Linear Bearing Slides 1 1/4" angle, with 4 bearings = $18.00 ea. (total 6 needed, 8", 7.5" and 6")
All the MDF pieces cut for the main structure only and ready to put together = $250.00
All pieces cut in HDPE for the main structure only (High Density Polyethelene) = $500.00
Remember prices may change slightly (but will hold on order date) depending on if i actually loose money in time and materials as the proccess goes on, as it is i am loosing or breaking even to start. The more people i have the more i will be able to get quantity on materials and drops the price for me initially

thats what im unsure of .... ive been talking to joe long before he even made this thread ...... so I expressed interest before he publically stated he may sell kits ..... Not saying you couldnt have done the same thing ..... I simply dont know, thats why I asked ....
I guess its an ugly situation to have something in high demand that being first or high in the line matters ...... its good for buisness but bad for organization I guess ...

I do however plan to make and sell a kit form of the projector, its just a matter of time. I really want my design to be as cheap and universal as possible. I am a slow thinker it takes me ages to weigh up the pros and cons of a design.
But it will happen.
