Hello great site, I have not started building yet, I wanted to ask some questions.
I dont have tools and not too much building skills. So Im looking at buying the slusher box and everything else from this site!! I have seen the pics and read the comments and people seemed to be realy stoked about the projector.
I have a 10 foot video screen already as I have a overhead projector and a old school LCD Pannel. its ok but not the best..
question 1. 15 inch compared to 17 inch, will I be happy with the 15".
question 2. how is it for day time viewing or evening light. say after 8 pm when its dusk.
question 3. LCD what is good right now for stripping, needs so be simple! I have a computer running win media center 2005, so i will be using that for media and tv watchingis that ok?.
Thanks for the time Guys

1) 10 Foot screen is fine, as for the 15" to 17", well the optics for the 17" zoom lense were pulled from the store because they were not the right optics and are getting redone. Not sure when they well be available. Price is a huge difference. No true HD with 15" but up to 720P from what I've read, iirc. I went with 15" because of price and size of box plus the $$$ factor.
2) Most if not all projectors like darkness, it's the nature of front projection, if you go smaller you will have more light hitting the screen so that will improve it. Look thru the Plogs and people have them with lights on.
3) I went with the BenQ 557V2 and it was a breeze to strip. Good response time at 16 ms and good contrast ratio at 450 or 500:1.
Read the compatiblity list to see what people say.

Yes, the Benq 557v2. 15' very easy to strip and rugged. strong ffc's.
Better res. with a 17" though.

The slusher box is very easy to use and if you plan closely enough you should not have to modify the box at all (although a switch or two will probalby come into play) If you have certain needs slusher will do it for you. I have one and the only changes I made to the box were two 3/4" holes for switches in the back and one 1/8" hole in the front to runt the wire for the control of the LCD. By the way the Samsung 512N strips very nicely also
good luck
