I'm trying to adjust the colors on my pj, but just cant seem to get it right. I've tried adjusting the fresnels, but still having problems. It almost seems like too much light is being projected thru the lcd. I removed the reflector and it seems to have helped. None of the colors look as vibrant as they should be. Blacks look more gray, etc... I've spent the last 2 days messing with this thing and getting kind of ticked off. I have blackout cloth for the screen, using the standard lenses and ushio bulb. I have not painted the inside black and I do have a little light shinning thru the very top and bottom of lcd, but I wouldnt think it would have a huge effect. I've put alot of time and money into this thing, any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Most likely that is your problem. You dont want any stray or reflected light bouncing around in the front end of the projector.

also even a little bit of light leakage can effect your picture by far

I just took care of the light leaking around the lcd, didnt notice a diff.
I'm using the BenQ 557sV2 lcd, ushio bulb and lnt double walled scrubbie holder. I've tried messing with the contrast in the control panel and on the lcd. I will try painting the inside of the box tomorrow. Thanks!

anyone else know what could cause the screen to look washed out and the colors not so vibrant?
