Hey guys,

I stumbled upon this thread at the AVS forum. It documents a lot of prior work with silver pvc screens. They have had a lot of success building screens that maintain their contrast in ambient light. Since I want my projector to be the main TV in the family room, I plan on having quite a bit of ambient light on. I plan on building this typie of screen.

I will gladly sell you my 3 yards of silver pvc that i bought from mjtrends, it was on my wall for all of 3 minutes. I will also sell you my silver screen paint, my silver metallic paint, my opal pearlesnce paint. If you feel you will have better luck than any of us have then please help me out by buying my stuff and saving yourself money.

What are you asking for them?

If you want just the silver pvc material I will send it to you for 20 bucks shipped. It will even be packaged in the same box that they sent it to me in. If you want the paint I might have to see how much it costs to mail those heavy paints, but im thinking a number in my head is 50 bucks for everything shipped. This would be silver metallic paint, silver screen paint, pearl, I am pretty much out of the white ceiling paint but ill give what is left. I used the white to paint the outside of my projector. Heck I will even give you the brushs I have. This stuff is just sittin in a corner.

Did you try to spray the silver pvc with the flat laquer? Some suggest that it eliminates all most all of the hotspotting.

Foamcows, thanks for the offer. I am going to try to paint an aluminum screen first. In that thread there was a description of how to paint an aluminum screen evenly. I'll give that a try first.

another problem with the silver is that it was only brighter near the hotspot, the edges were darker on mine, and the colors looked really weird, everything had real intense colors that made everything seem out of tune. The silver in the pvc is a dark silver, more like a grey, not a bright almost white silver. If you could find a bright almost white silver than life would be great.
