to be honest - I actually took pictures of my strip of the monitor just in case the FFC where a problem - yeah you should be able to put the monitor back together - but it depends on you and how careful you are - and if you cant remember how to put it back together - take pictures - photographic memory

Personally, I'm using the 15" Liquidvideo from CC (actually, I'm not technically using it right now, because I ripped the FFC, and now I have to get it fixed...)

Check the Compatible Monitors thread in the Intelligent Video projector design forum for a list of known usable monitors. Check the Incompatible Monitiors thread for a list of unusable monitors. If the monitor you're looking at is not in either of those lists, we don't know about it one way or the other. wink.gif

However, if I recall correctly the KDS Rad 5 is not usable, has the FFC issue real bad... dry.gif

Oh yeah, You could be a pioneer and try a monitor that's not on the compatible list, but personally I'd stick to known usable monitor. Remember, once you pull a monitor apart, you have violated the warranty and cannot legally take it back if it turns out to be unusable for this application...

This is a very good point and should be followed by everyone!!!

Well, apparently it works great for this application. (That's why you've been hearing about it...) tongue.gif

The title of this topic has no reflection on the content.
Also, the Benq monitor seems to be good and easier to find than the Che Mei monitors. Searching the forum will bring up a great deal of information about that model.

I like the quality of my liquidvideo (ChiMei 1512) as a regular monitor (don't have anything else to put it in yet). It has been discontinued though from the only stores who carried them, Circuit City (The liquidvideo was a legacy monitor for our stores only).
