Well, finally, after reading a great deal on this site, I start my project.
No pics as yet, but I will finish this quick.

I Have the following parts till now.

Benq 567S Monitor, awaiting delivery (nightmare with the vendor on Ebay) $150
Lamp - Free
Lamp Holder - Free
Lenses - Ordered today from lumen lab
Switches - Free
Lumber - Getting Tomorrow from Lowes

Where can I get the tempered glass?.,..local glass shop?

Standby for more!!!!!!!!

you can find it at home depot. it costs approx 20 bucks...

I am well on my way with my project and will add pics to my PLOG in a day or so.

I have a question though.

Is it acceptable to sandwich the lexan/uvsheet/collimator lens together with a few clips? They will all be touching.

glass??? you dont need no friggin glass!!!! :angry: just have good air flow across that bulb and exhaust and youll be aight. ive ran mine for hours on end, no melted fresnels yet. biggrin.gif

I would imagine that you have some pretty loud fans. I'm not sure that I would risk not using tempered glass. I have 2 fans running behind the bulb and after watching Galaxy Quest last night I felt the glass around the center and it was pretty hot, I wouldnt' be worried so much about the fresnels as much as the lcd which isn't that far from the bulb. But if it works for you, then why change?

hhahahah heck yeah they are, but cant hear em when im playin on it, shotgun blasts and plasma bursts over power its noise. wink.gif

that z pattern at the top right looks like it is coming from your flashing see if its in the light path to the first fresnel
