Hello,
I am gathering my info on doing this project. Sounds exciting and the end result sounds so kick ass.

I have questions on the LCP Panels to be used.

Not taking cost into account is a smaller LCD (like 12 or 10 or 7) better than the 15 inch. ? If so why ? Is it the way the light will pass thru ?

The reason I ask is the company I worked for deals in panels.
Back room is stuffed with them. Toshiba mostly I think. But others also. They are authorized to sell all kinds of these things.

I think these are referred to as RAW panels but I am not sure. I know when a company called to request demo's they have to get specs and drawings to insure that they panels would work.

If I am able to get one from them what would be the "perfect" size to get ?

Thanks
Mark

There is a section on smaller projectors.. and 7 inches.. still some new ideas so people are still pioneering.. same with 17" and 19"

the advantage being.. smaller and can get SXGA quality resolution ( 1280 res.. I think that is why smaller is better ) and also you can build a smaller box wink.gif

The reason people use 15" here, is because it is hard to find panels with good specs under that size. If you can find one that is xga with good contrast (400:1 or over), and a 25ms response time or less, then a smaller panel would be fine. Of course your fresnels will need to be cut to the proper size.
