I wonder how it stacks up against the viewsonic N6. 160.00

That thing is a rip off, I'd just go with an HTPC, you can build one for around $350 and it will most likely look better....

I ran it through pricegrabber.com and they had several at different prices. I priced the above at a new component price not refurb.

Yah but PCs can do much higher resolution then DVD players, and PCs support VGA and DVI, which look even better in my opinion.

I'm not arguing the fact that DVDs will look better from a HTPC, but I watch more than just DVDs on my setup.

A HTPC that will allow for good quality playback of any device and HD components as well is gonna cost A BUNCH. More than a HTPC for DVDs + a scaler box.
