I was wondering about using a laser level to center everything. I'm going to put all my components in a frame, get them straight/centered, then build the box around it. Can a laser level hurt the Bulb? LCD screen? Fresnals, Lens?

Pull the LCD when doing the adjustment. Everything else will be fine.

Not a bad idea, might have to try that. In answer to your question, a consumer level laser cannot hurt any of the components you mentioned.
Just be sure not to point the laser at any aircraft or the feds will come knocking on your door.....

I used a laser level to align my projector and it worked great. I started with the first lens ane worked my way back to the reflector. It is a good idea to put a small piece of tape (masking is fine) on the back of the reflector. This way, you have a non reflective surface to shoot for. It is neet to see the laser light hit each of the lens elements, the lamp and finally the reflector. I removed the triplet lens and mounted the laser in front. The triplet lens screw holes were used to hold the laser in place. A simple right angle bracket was made to hold the laser. I used it several times as I found myself always making some kind of ajustment. There never is a question as to whether or not everthing is aligned. It worked so good you could see the light strike the "bulls eyes" of each fresnel lens! Precision ajustment can be obtained using this method.
Hope to have pictures soon so. This way you will have a better idea as to how it worked.
