As the title states, my PJ has a grainy image. Watchable and looks great but I bet it could be better. I am using a viewsonic vg150 and the LL lens kit. I am using the vstream tvbox. Any ideas on how to fix or make better?

I am using the vstream tvbox.

The TV Box would be the first thing I would check. I'm not familiar with the Vstream but my guess is that its the culprit...

Hook the PJ up to your computer (for best test results be sure to set your computer's resolution to match that of your LCD's native) and see how it looks.

Sorry to dredge up an old post, but wanted to update people. I got higher quality cables and it looks much better now. Just have some jaggedness to tv signals when things are movving fast, probably from line doubler not keeping up to good.

I still recomend this tvbox for the pj'er on a tight budget.

Maybe its the lcd response time.

That could be it as well, it is 30ms. I'll upgrade at some point when the funds are available. But till then it still looks great.

Check the distance of the lcd to the field lens. The further away the field is from the lcd, the more it magnifys the picture.

I got everything running great. I have got high quality cables, and spent an hour or so adjusting the focus and fresnel placements. I actually have both fresnels behind the lcd for now until I can figure out the best way to mount the condensor fresnel around the lcd circuts. I also side mounted the monster lamp ton see how it would look as opposed to the 45 degree angle. I'll upload some pics as soon as I figure out the best way.

edit: OK lets try this,
