Ok, so I went to buy a LG L1515s today and got it half way home when I realized it was a LG L1510s. I was slightly paniced so I phoned the guy and he said I could bring it back if it wasn't what and I didn't break it (I love smaller stores)
Long story short the LG L1510s is basicly the exact same as the L1515s inside exsept it's backlight is bigger. It has exactly the same specs too.

Just wanted to add Dell E153FPf to the list. I'm just getting started and the LCD stripping went great. It looks very close to the dell 1504FP, all the connections along the bottom. I shouldn't need FFC, but the control buttons may have to be extended. It's actually a samsung LCD inside. Now I'm debating A/G removal.

Just stripped the AOC LM726 sucessfully. This one needs to be added to the compatible list, if anyone draws one up.
Decent specs (see spec sheet PDF attached).
No FFC issues.
It even has nice control buttons on the front panel that are easy to remove and look like they'll be easy to mount somewhere on the projector case.

X2GEN 15" LCD Model Number: MG15VT
I've finished takeing apart an X2GEN 15" LCD.
I'll post pics as soon as I can.
One FFC issue, everything else is a wire cable. The FFC issue is a 16 pin cable and I think the 16 pin x 6 inch FFC cable from Lumenlab will fix that issue.
Easy to take apart, but I haven't tested it yet to see if I messed it up taking it apart. I'll let everyone know soon, but I was very careful, so it should still work.
I've also taken apart a Dell 1503FP. There were two FFCs in it, but they did not seem to be an issue at all as they were connected to the, well, I'm not sure what the board would be called, it's not the VGA board, but another board under that and it connected to the top side of the LCD panel itself. I'll see about getting pics of it as well.
I may decide to not use the X2GEN, although I have it completely apart, maybe I can put it back together. It has one dead pixel in the upper right about 2 inches down and 1 inch from the right side facing the monitor.

I actually took apart two Dell 1503FP 15" LCDs, one has an FFC issue, the other doesn't.
There is no difference in the model number and the serial number for each are within a run of 50 of each other.

This panel looked real good to me also until I attempted to buy it.
Seems that it is not available anywhere in the U.S.
Rat shack wouldn't "bait and switch" would they???
I did try to buy the Samsung, however I ran into the same problems as Geno742. While I had two locations relatively close that carried it in stock, one did not ever answer the phone, and the other was selling it over $100 more than the Radio Shack's price.
I liked the idea that a TV has all of the inputs I needed, so I searched on. I found and bought a Phillips 15MF605T from www.refurbdepot.com. Ended up costing $260 with 2-day shipping. It has great specs, including HDTV, and a remote.
I stripped it last Friday. It was really simple. For my first time I thought it would be harder. Lumenlab did not ship my kit in time for me to put it all together over the weekend, so I will be attempting it this next weekend. I will post my results next week, but I have a feeling that this tv will be added to the list.
You can check out the specs from the website, but I will post them next week if all goes well.
On a side note, if this works out, I think I may be building a few more of these (friends and families). Anyway, in my research I have been unable to find 15" lcds that go over 1024X768. Does anybody know of 15" that go higher?

SCEPTRE 15" LCD MONITOR X5G Komodo VII
I took a chance on it cause i got it for 33.50 off ebay..it had a bad backlight. Got it home today and it stripped away like a dream. It uses regular wires for everything except the circuit board that actually connects to the lcd panel itself (whatever that is called) anyways..there's only one of them along the top and it flips out of the way*. can't wait to get started!
* when i say "flips out of the way" i really mean "is gently and lovingly coerced from directly over the lcd panel".

Hello all,
Im from the UK and would like to recommend a definate compatible cheap perfect monitor!!!!
I purchased a Daewoo HL711A from scan.co.uk for only 99 quid (ex vat and shipping)!!!!!!! with the following:
17" TFT LCD (1280 X 1024)
300cd/m²
8 ms
500:1
This is an amazing quality cheap monitor...and whats more it took 10 minutes to strip...and is IDEAL for projector projects... Its almost modular with the whole of the power and video boards stuck in a box on the back, with long (enough) cables to go off to the LCD. The LCD btw is held in place simply with a metal frame, you do not have to remove any cathodes or any backing!!! it literally comes out after u under the frame screws and pop the frame. After 10 mins I have a seperate lighting unit, very workable 17 inch screen and a pre-shielded electronics box!!
(as you can tell im pretty happy about this! I started this project last year before I even new about LL, and managed to kill a 15 inch lcd!)
I would stick a link in so all you UK people could easily purchase em from SCAN.co.uk....but as soon as i got it stripped - they stopped selling them, typical.
anyway no issues whatsoever - excellent example of a monitor to use.
The Daewoo HL711A - COMPATIBLE!

I just stripped a
ViewEra V151H-B 15" 12ms LCD (No Dead Pixel Guarantee)
Went very well, and fairly easy. 4 Large Ribbons lead off of the circuit board into the LCD, The Video/Power card attached via tiny 6pin plugs with all wiring, One very long FCC cable leading from the Video Board to the Button Control panel. The Circuit board with the 4 Large ribbons leading into the LCD is located at the top of the image or top of the LCD. I tested this monitor with my XBOX 360 and Computer, It performed wonderfully, the display is beautiful. The No Dead Pixel Guarantee is what tempted me to try it.
