I'm sorry if this has already been covered, I have a hard time keeping up with all of the new posts. Projector is up and running after replacing a faulty artic fan with a slightly overpriced model from radio shack, which so far has worked okay. I'm having 2 problems which should be taken care of with some minor adjustments. One the lighting on the screen, which is really only that noticeable if the entire screen is blank white, a large circular area which covers most of the screen, except for the corners is slightly brighter. I have the norpro, so I'm thinking I may have the bulb too far in and need to move it out towards the front edge? Two, I have some fresnel lines on the upper right side of the projection, which is making it a little blurry when using the computer display. The front fresnel is probably 2 or 3 inches in front of the lcd, so I'm thinking the rear fresnel is too close Ive got it about 5/8" away from lcd. Do I need to move the lcd away from the fresnel a little more? Other than these little glitches, everything works fine its great watching a dvd on a 10 ft. diagonal screen. These problems arent apparant when watching movies.

your fresnel distances are wrong ....
both fresnels are less than an inch from the LCD screen ...
the rear fresnel is 15mm ... (just under 5/8) .... and the front fresnel is 20mm (just under 13/16 ...... that should help your picture some ....

This is a bit off the discussion but the same idea.
I am using the view sonic VG150. I built a screen this weekend and used a bright white paint that i add a touch of aluminium paint. The result was a dull gray.
After I made the screen I realized the whitest white would have been the best choice.
Something to consider.
