I have read all the posts about that guide at Tom's hardware and I agree with all the comments which were said there... nevertheless since i'm a complete noob in projector building, i decided to see for myself and bought a 4000 lumen overhead projector. i just wanted to see how well projecting through a lcd was. so after stripping down my LCD screen (which by the way i posted in the incompatible list because of fcc issues) and placed it on top of the projector whichever way i could. the outcome was not disappointing at all and I did notice the excessive amount of light leakage which the overhead PJ generates (although it doesnt really compromise the projected image). After spending a couple of days watching movies and playing games i decided that I needed to improve the projector setup... and i realised this is where the lumenlab PJ has a direct advantage... everything is packed inside a box unlike the overhead projector method which is very unorganised and quite dangerous... so i decided to give the overhead projector back and make myself a lumenlab PJ...
here are some images to describe my passion on this project... im incredibly devoted to this!
First image: the GREAT disadvantage of using this method...the amount of cables, mounting tape and boxes to support everything makes the whole project very untidy!!

Second image: 5 straight hours inside a completely dark room watching movies!woohoo!
