Has anyone ever mounted their core and coil ballast on the outside of their box? My thinking is to remove some of the unnecessary heat from inside the box. I would still have my fan blow across the ballast, but it would just be on the exhaust side of the fan.
Also, has anyone ever measured the temperature of their core and coil ballast?

No problem mounting it outside, but the coil gets hot enough to fry a dog's brain.
