hello all.
i just opened my fresnals and projector lens.i got them 2 months ago but have never removed them from the packaging!! i have just opened them as i about to tart building my PJ, if you look at attached image the red area on the image is missing it looks like it has been snapped off , it must have been before the fresnals were sent out becuase the bit that is missing is not in the package ?? ? the bit maybe smaller than the red part shown , this is the max that has been snapped off
Help! will this affect my projection much ?
Thanks

Is your lcd smaller than the fresnel?
if the lcd is not covering where the fresnel used to be you are fine.
if it is, you need a new lense

I have built a smaller psone projector, I had a broken collector fresnel, and after doing some adjustments, didn't notice it at all, it was cracked through where the screen was, but everything is fine.
I do have the setup with my two fresnels and then my screen, don't know if that will make a difference or what.
Good luck.

I remember someone asking about the dimensions of that panel in the PLOG board. I can't remember the dimensions though. Try searching, or read the PLOGS

I have the same monitor with the same fresnel set. You should be fine.
I dont remember exactly but the lens are about a 1/2 inch bigger, top and bottom, than the screen area of the LCD. Remember the actuall picture area of the lcd is smaller than the overall dimensions of the lcd by about a 1/4" all around.
You should be fine.

That same company sells caps and ignitors:
http://www.bltdirect.co.uk/cat339_1.htmI would buy from them. There is only one ignitor so it is likely the one you need and if you would be able to contact their customer support I am sure that they could point you in the correct direction for the cap. It is usually recommended that you purchase the same brand of ignitor as your ballast. However if you found a cap with the same type and rating, you could use it.
