I am getting ready to purchase a Dell E153FP Monitor and was wondering if this is a good choice? Is it somewhat accessable, meaning can I get the LCD out without too much trouble? What do you think about this monitor as far as quality is concerned? Thanks for the help in advance.

One other question. I just purchased the 15" lens kit. Was this kit used in the lumenlab project?

Also, what does DIY stand for. I know I sound like an idiot but this is my first go around with projectors. I've been catching alot of flak from some of the other engineers here at work and my girlfriend so I am looking forward to the "I told this would kick butt" statment after I get this thing completed.

This is definitly not the right board to post that type of question. Next time try in the Help board. I would suggest reading A LOT, and use the search feature (at the top right between help and members) before asking questions, but since i am taking the time to write this i will answer your questions.

About the dell monitor:

I believe the E153FP has an FFC issue, and you would have to purchase an FFC extender in the lumenlab store. Read ALL of the compatible monitor list, in the intelligent board. and search to make sure. I would reccommend the BenQ, this is what I am using. Very easy to strip and very high quality. You can also look on eBay.

About the lense kit:

Yes, it is used with the standard lumenlab 15" projector

DIY:

It stands for Do It Yourself.

*Edit* I see you are not a costomer. You need to purchase the guide to get access to the protected forums. It is VERY helpful, and I would probably be dead if it wasn't for lumenlab (electrocution from incorrect wiring). It is well worth it. *Edit*

Pistolen08,

Thanks for the info. I am having a hard time finding the proper information on the forums becuase I seem to be locked out of many of them. I will try to get that issure resolved. I will look at ebay now to see if I can find the BenQ Monitor.

Thanks again,

Jason

As I said before, you need to purchase the guide before you can have access to the protected boards. you can buy it through the lumenlab store at:
Lumenlab Guide
You can pay with paypal, and almost instantaniously, you will get an e-mail of where to download the guide. then go into edit your profile and enter your costomer code (found in the e-mail with the guide download directions). Then you will have access to the protected forums.
