Do you know, anybody, how to connect FAN to power in projector? Does 110V work without any power reduction? Any demonstration picture would help me smile.gif

Thanks for quick answer.

do not plug the fan straight to the wall.

that would turn out bad.

if it is a computer fan than it is probably 12 volts. so if it is 12 volts then plug it into either a 12 volt adapter or a pc power supply. if it is a fan off of a overhead projector than it is a 120v fan and that can go straight to the wall.

Ya, benji is right, chances are you have a 12V DC fan. There are 120v AC fans around but they're uncommon. Figure out which one you have before proceeding.

also as Benj says, find yourself a 12v DC wall wart with 300ma current or higher, strip the wires from the tip, figure out the hot and cold lines, then proceed carefully from there. Do not cross the two wires otherwise you risk a shock/fire or blown circuit.

On a 12v DC computer fan the red wire is positive and the black wire is ground. Cap and ignore the yellow wire which is an rpm sensor.

Be careful not to touch live wires with your bare hands!

well ive touched live wires from my adapter and they didnt do anything. but touching 120v live wires really sucks.

Thank you for fast answer, I will be carefull biggrin.gif Do you have any idea or any web link for 120V fan? Or what kind a fan did you use? And how did you fix transforming from 120v to 12v? Problem is we have here in Europe 220V and installing to projector extra transformer to 12V is very silly .... understand..
Thanks DAVID

Wait, wait, wait, what sort of fan is it??? They can be 5VDC, 12VDC, 110VAC, 220VAC etc... You need to read the label on the fan and find out what type it is and then give it that type of power. If you bought it en europe then its not going to be 110VAC. But no matter what it is the wrong voltage is going to damage it. sad.gif unsure.gif blink.gif
