Has anyone built a folded box, and regretted it due to the loss of light taken by the mirror? I'm wondering if you really notice the 8%. I'd like a smaller footprint for my project, but I can live with a bigger projector if the loss of light is noticeable.
Thanks!

I was wondering this too.Brain posted somewhere in the LL forum something like you can improve the light engine to make up for the difference. I do not think that it would be that noticeable at all though maybe to the trained eye. You ever noticed that when you lean your laptop screen away from you the picture gets brighter maybe if you tilt the LCD/TFT a couple degrees or more and adjust the field fresnel lens the same for keystone corrections, then you would allow more light to pass through the LCD canceling the 8% rule.

Because all the optics are already focused on the panel which is completley flat, it is already allowing for maximum light transmission

There are several poeple in this forum community that have said and tried this, and have increased the image brightness. Are you sure about this IDDQD or are you just saying it?
