Im in the process of making the black frame for my blackout cloth screen.

I have the lumenlab BO cloth, and one side has a softer felt like feel to it ... while the other side has a slicker plastic feel to it .... which of these sides should the projection be shot onto ....

Im currently using the soft felt side ..... and my image looks fine .. but if im supposed to be using the other side I have to make the switch no before everything is mounted ...

Anyone know??

Generally the plastic side is used, but I would look at both and see what looks best to you.

I considered painting the fabric side with that RustoleumŽ silver paint that DR_Bev was testing. That way I would have a reversible screen. Of course I would test a small area first to make sure the solvents in the paint didn't damage the plastic or that it wouldn't flake off. Just an idea.

so the slick plastic side is supposed to be used .... is there any theory behind this?? I just have to be certain cause once I construct this screen I cant go back easily ...

can't say i've ever seen a post stating the answer to that actually, glad you asked smile.gif in any case, i would say just fold a third of the cloth over itself and project onto the whole thing, that way you sould be able to see a whole image on both parts at the same time and you'll see for yourself which side looks better to you.

i have actually used both sides ... and i cannot tell a difference between either side.

So my guess is to just use the smooth side because its easier to wipe clean.
