I thought this would be a good place to move the help about the PSONE LCD. There seem to be quite a few people still interested in them as cheap/small alternatives.

We already did some stuff in GRA_PELAYO's gallery page here GRA_PELAYO's projector. He is the small lcd projector master.

alapimba:
First your question on the power/av stuff. This was the part of the disection that I had the most trouble with. I took the three screws out and then tried to open it. It kept sticking. I eventually ripped it apart, but I am still not sure what it stuck on. I would suggest being careful, but still pulling some. There are a couple pieces of plastic (A) that may have been melted together, but I am not sure. unsure.gif They don't show up real well in the picture. This is what mine looks like after the lcd is all the way out. I seemed to get held up on the B screws and around the C hinges.

As to the 3 and 3 screws (D), I didn't even touch them. You might be able to take them off and then pull off the bottom part with the power/av, but I didn't do it that way.

The glue. I was refering to some glue that was on the A connectors. It is not real important. There is not any glue on either B. I guess you could disconnect the B's, but they seem pretty secure and happy there, so I wouldn't disconnect them.

On to the Silicone II. I haven't found this documented incredibly well before. I haven't done an exhaustive forum search, but here is how I did it.
THIS is my silicone II. I found it at Walmart in the clearance section for $1. I thought that seemed like a great price.

The tube was sealed on the end, so I had to take a knife and cut off the tip of it. Then the remaining tip was filled with some clear goo that I had a hard time getting out of it. I eventually got it out and some clear liquid started flowing out. I figured that was the silicone, and proceeded to apply 4 dots on the corner of the lcd. I was trying to use it like glue. (I had the metal piece, then the 4 dots then I set the lcd on top of it.) That is NOT the way to do it. It turns out that that clear stuff was not the silicone. sad.gif

The silicone is white. If you buy the same thing that I have and use it, make sure you squeeze stuff out of the tube until you get to the white stuff. (I wish I had known this beforehand.)

After I let the clear stuff dry for a little while, I went back and applied a strip of silicone (white!) to the EDGES of the lcd. It seems best to apply it this WAY:
I saw someone elses picture like this and am borrowing parts of it. I am not sure to whom it belongs.
You have to make sure that you have the lcd reasonable close to centered in the metal frame, or you could end up with some of the silicone covering the viewable area of the lcd.

After applying the silicone, I let it dry overnight. The silicone seems to hold it very securely.

I did not do the vga mod, or any soldering to the control board, but if anyone wants to show how to do those I would be interested for future reference.

(By the way, I have awful handwriting to begin with, but I am left-handed and drew the pictures with my right hand.)
