I dont really want to electricute myself or start a fire. I am going to attempt the lilliput build. So i want to use a 250watt double ended bulb. I was wondering if there was a plug and play ballast for it. basically plug it into the power outlet and screw in the bulb(or whatever way the double ended bulb goes in, you get the idea). Bam done. No wiring.

Any links?

thanks.

No, that has a mogul base that will not work with your bulb. The easiest to wire is the electronic ballast.

will those work with the eye bulbs?
DeathRay64
They don't give an ANSI rating so I can't say if they would work with a 250W EYE.

It'd still have to be wired to a source. There's a lot more wiring in this project than just the lamp and ballast too. What are you going to do about fuses and switches and fans? It's not as hard as you may think, and there's plenty of help for you here. Or you can find a friend who's a little more comfortable with it.

Or maybe there's someone esle here near NYC?

Yes, yes it is. I think I'm missing that part of my brain, as I will dive right into anything that I know nothing about. Haven't had a disaster yet either. biggrin.gif Knock on wood...
