Full Version: How to tell if I need to remove a layer on LCDface

I've stripped my BenQ 557sv2.

Now it stripped real easy, question though, the same surface is still attached to LCD as is was originally. Is the LCD just glass and not supposed to have the original plastic part on it's face. In the mentioned stripping thread he pulled some layer away, mine didn't pull away, am I supposed to peel these off? I'd hate to pull the wrong thing off.

Also when measuring box size according to LCD I should give a little extra for mounting hardware right? So if the measured value of LCD in frame fits in guide's box then I can just go with the guide measurements correct? Excuse the simple q's, just double checking.

TIA

The lcd is a piece of glass with two dark plastic polarizers adhered to either side. They will not come off without force. Do not attempt to remove them. Everything else has to go.

Thanks Brain, I'm going to go measure the LCD and will atempt to remove outside layer.
