I have no yet done any mod on any PJ, nor I have build any... I am a noob and have some understanding of electronics, but not circuity. However after reading countless bypass. I could see that all you suppose to do is to ground one of the cables that comes out of the ballistic to trick the system into thinking there is a bulb..

I have a viewsonic PJ 556D (2k Lumens), which I wanted to mod. After that, I may wanted to mod my Dual lamp commerical Panasonic PT-D5500UL (5k Lumnes) projector.. When I took the original bulb out of the viewsonic. I only see 2 connection point, probably + and -. Therefore I was wondering if I just bridge the 2 connection, will that trick the system into thinking there is a bulb? Or must it done at the ballistic wire out? Anyone with a full understand could explain to me why if just bridging the bulb socket won't work?
