I was wondering since its a 330w metal halide if it could run 250w or 150w the bulb looks like this

http://cgi.ebay.com/Bulb-Lamp-for-MVP800-C...=item4149eff883

I was hoping a retrofit of a bulb that could last longer a 150w or 250w bulb that could last 4000-6000hrs

like http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/150W-6K-6000K-DE-HQI...018132001r20924

ps sorry hopefully this can start some research on on bulbs that can be retrofitted for commerical projectors..

I don't quite know what the question is but.....

You need a 150 watt ballast to run a 150 watt Metal halide.

A 250 watt ballast to run a 250 watt Metal Halide.

Etc, etc.....

well i saw a post on here about projector mods using a 150w hqi on a 250w ballast just wondering if there is any mods using a hqi bulb on any commerical projectors besides the china projectors. I know some projectors use a double end 250w 330w 400w 575w but bulb life is 1000hrs and bulbs are 70-100$ i was hoping to see if a hqi bulb would work for any projector that uses the double ended bulbs?

here are some projectors

3m ep8620 use a 100V 400W DOUBLE ENDED https://www.interlight.biz/light-bulb/HMP40...p;ID=FROOGLE-US

As I said, if you use a certain watt bulb you will need the same size ballast.
