Hi guys im looking to either buy or make a projector but dont have the time anymore (as im working full time) to build a diy projector.
But i think an overhead projector will be quite simple?
and also do people still use overhead diy projectors? i havent been on this site for long time now,im from the (lumenlab pro evo projector era),i want to make something for every day use so how long does a bulb last average for an overhead pro?
please let me know guys thanks.

if you can find a 1080p panel about 12" or less then yes. Let us know what you find.

Anything is possible, it's a matter of time and money.
To make an "overhead" WUXGA, you need to pick the panel and the OHP.
For the panel, the 15.4" WUXGA with PW106 controller is the easiest. Then you need either an OHP that will already take the 15.4" or you need to build one. To build one, you could probably use the existing OHP and replace the fresnels with larger ones, or, failing that, build your own OHP base.
Lamp life will vary depending on which OHP you start with. There are ones that use $5 lamps (Which last 50-75 hours each) and there are ones that use the 575W MH lamps, which are a couple thousand hours I think. You could retrofit for whatever lamp you want/can find, too. Without knowing what OHP you're starting with, that's impossible to say though.
