$999...If you want drives with goodies, $1250. ;p We're down to 3 available vX bots; ready to ship NOW.

Got 2 more bots done on Halloween!

Sweet.

Guess I dont need to post all those pics I took when I received it! biggrin.gif

It is indeed a gorgeous bot. I havent had nearly enough time to spend with it quite yet, but that will change very soon, even if I have to make a few trivial sacrifices of less-important activities (eating, sleeping, working??).

LL did a fantastic packing job. Freeing my lovely micRo felt like helping a newly born butterfly escape from its cocoon. Assuming no hardware hitches (Im a software geek, so I figure I should be all set on that side) in the setup , Ill have a RoBlog set up sometime this week.

Just thought it would be nice to put some feedback up-credit where credit is due! Grayson and Robin built a beatuiful bot here and shipped it in record time. Happy halloween to me - it is appreciated. Thanks LL!

Due to a customer who decided instead to buy an m2. I have another, new, assembled, trammed vX for sale, ready to ship NOW $999. There are a couple 'maybe' buyers so if anyone wants it better speak up! Add $200 more and get a great deal on 4 amps and opto-breakout ($100 off!) PLUS a whole bunch of bonus goodies like the sweet new cable assemblies, dual PSUs, e-stop and switchgear, drilled base...possibly more!

Does this mean mine should be shipping around now? (Please, please say yes!)

I could have shipped it weeks ago if you don't care about having your drives enclosed, and I believe you had the computer too? We have slowly been working toward completion of the BOM for electrics. Your bot is a totally finished bot if I'm not mistaken, which required the cable assemblies from China, the enclosures (2 instrument chassis with machined i/o (back in house meh), mobos, switch gear, meters, power supplies (we changed to 6.3 amps "bump in the line" more modular, not in box being a heater etc..) (aghh, just realized you are 240v! aghh)...

All of this stuff was timed to deliver the 2nd week Nov, and most of it was, but we had to make a hard decision about the shuttle, and it did not have our blessings. It is not heavy duty enough, has publicly-known PSU probs and integrating the amps is a bad idea (mine too! sigh) because if you lose the computer for any reason, the whole system is out. Instead, and despite (yet another) greater expense on LL's part, we are now embedding a dual Atom mobo into its own chassis, and the amps in another, exactly the same size, stackable, small modular. I would have those ready by now if we could have kept to the acrylic laser-cut cases, but the ETKO knock out forced me to source the chassis (in quantities) from electrical supply. Easier said than done, which is why we were making them to begin with!

I do have a functional shuttle controller here, but I figured you'd opt for the swanky new stuff and I honestly want you to have it! I have no other issues shipping you the shuttle and your bot now, as in 100% out the door on Monday! The shuttle is switchable to 240, as are the DIN PSUs.

Hey hey soapy,

Some more of your kit came in today, and I expect everything else to finish your syncRo/micRo tomorrow. While not the syncRo future iterations will become; this is a step in the direction we will pursue; a modular system, extensible when needed with tool modules and highly hacker friendly. I got started mounting your amps and heat sinks in the drive enclosure. Robin coded the face plates and will run them with a micRo (more tests) tomorrow.

One enclosure is for the computer, the other for the amps. There are lots of good reasons for doing this, and when I realized that 'full integration' wasn't one of my best ideas, we changed. (In case anyone is wondering, that is why the price increased.) Enclosures with the right combinations are impossible to find, despite there being thousands and thousands of 'just barely wrong' enclosures. Since we had to put our custom boxes on hold... we have to make some compromises; PC-bone color, bleh ;p, and height is .6" higher than needed. That's the trade-off if you want vented, heavy duty instrument chassis. First thing I did today was pull a set out for 'myself' and paint them satin black. We are at least going to use smoked plex face plates in the V2 iterations, including the backlog, but I can't say when exactly or what version other V2 peeps will get.

I had ordered meters for your box. We are adding a VFD or graphic lcd for parameter monitoring and it isn't quite ready, but I thought the analog meters would give you something to look at. The meters are sub-spec for my standards, so I'm not installing them. Instead I am adding indicators for the various states and keeping the interface clean, rugged and down to biz.

More tomorrow!

Hi there. More welcoming than 'no user serviceable parts'. These are V1.2 drives, so I had a little hand work to do adding standoffs in the right places and heatsinks. (No big diff to v2, v2 each amp has it's own card.) All nuts are painted-down and sinks located logically by the vents.

Tomorrow will install the opto lpt, custom 6p pigtails for the motor cabling, enable, power lamps etc. Then onto the computer which has been chosen because of it's emc/latency test friendliness. (Dual core Atom, 945g, intel all the way.)

Bye bye soapybot, Godspeed!

There are 5 layers of cardboard between the bot and the post office, and 9 layers to the "core" syncRo.

Recently USPS had an ad campaign centered around the slogan "Delivered With Impact". Comedic genius or truth in advertising?

Oh, it's so near now!!!

I've just paid the charges, as the stupid letter finally arrived today. Why oh why they wouldn't just take the money over the phone!!

I'm hoping it's all intact. Fingers crossed for no more snow overnight, and I might actually get this fabled beast in my grubby mitts tomorrow!

Posted before Christmas, it arrived in the UK nearly two weeks ago now. We don't call them "Parcelfarce" for nothing.
