i am a collage student
in physics we were looking a coal fired power plants
well....
some coal fired plants use a high DC electrosatic between two plates and this attracts the carbon partials
i wa wornding whiter we could put this in our projector to stop the dust with out impeding the air flow
here's a link http://www.dustcollectorexperts.com/electrostatic/
it was just and extreme idea biggrin.gif

I remember seeing these in my HVAC days. The question is how would the lcd display or the circuits on the controller board react in close proximity with the filter.

I have two suggestions for you: Used dryer sheets or panty hose.
These will eliminate all large particles and any small ones will be burned by the bulb. Simple, doesnt cost much, easily reproduced.wink.gif
bradleyK
yes, but
the small particles will get left on the Fresnel and lcd
i am having the air flow going out past the bulb so they could get left behind
l believe that the hvdc will not effect the much but i have a Faraday shield from a
crt monitor.

Why not just use airconditioning/pollen filter?

Don't those Ionic air purfiers you can buy at walmart do the same thing?
I don't know how much voltage those things generate, but they use static electricicty to collect airborn particles.
I think it has to be around 15 or 20k volts to generate ions if I remember from my days in college.
