what base is better(is one better)
i am looking at getting a bulb but there are so many bulb bases

The one thats best is the one that meets your needs.

There is no "best type" it all depends on how you build your enclosure, and what you need from it.

The Mogul base is most common for these lamps, and is what most people use. The lamps are easy to find, and generally less expensive.

The FC2 bases are less common (Moreso in North America, I understand) but the double-ended lamps are generally smaller in physical size. This makes it more desireable for small LCD panels, where you want a small enclosure.
