Hey guys I'm currently using a Venture H75 ED28 400W bulb in my projector with its respective ballast. I was wondering if I could simply swap out the bulb for an Ushio S400DD bulb, or if I have to swap out the ballast or even the base. The venture bulb has a mogul base, im not sure if there are many varieties of those though.

I was thinking of making this swap because I heard that the Ushio bulb has a smaller arc length. Also It has a whiter color temperature and better CRI.

Thanks

EDIT: i just did some extra searching and it seems that this question has been answered elsewhere... But on that note, anyone have any suggestions as to better bulbs that work with that kind of ballast? I think its M135 or 155.

anyone?

The Ushio S400DD uses an S51 ballast. The 400W pulse-strike (Also popular) uses an M59 ballast. If your ballast is an M135, then you need a compatable lamp.

If you have a 400W electronic ballast, then any of the above lamps will work.

I was wondering if anyone knows of any good bulbs for the M135. I'm currently using a Venture H75 ED28 400W, but it seems to be a little more on the yellow side in terms of color. Its also got the football shape and a pretty large arc length. Any better bulbs out there for this ballast?
