find its focal lenght basiicly a what length does the item u are looking at become non blury how big is the glass also.

chances are its 99% good for some projector what size screen u want?

this is a zoom(35mm to 65mm) projection lens of a 16mm projector. My projection area is about 2.5m by 4.5m

look thru it, look at a book how far is lens from book b4 image is clear it should be 200-600mm

It will work for an lcd the same size as the source it originally focused on. I'm guessing this was for slides? If so it will focus on a source about 2" or less.

So no it will not work in a projector with an lcd larger than 2" most likely.

Not that it COULD, but... Assuming that you had the zoom all the way out (for the longest possible projection distance) this would produce a 120" image from a 15" LCD at about 22" throw. Of course, fresnel lenses that can do this don't exist, so it's all moot.

Take a 3.5" LCD (like, say the one that I have to install in my wife's minivan as a backup camera screen) and you get a more reasonable 90" throw for a 120" screen. This is STILL pretty short, but possibly doable.

thanks supraguy i just fund the focal distance calculator and make it clear to me. for the record this is a 16mm film projector lens.also in my inventory there is and other lense that my be proper. this old Russian catoptric 300mm lens. this might work. what did you think? im counting on you supraguy!!!

Neither of those lenses will "see" a screen over 2" . They just won't work.

I think Supra is being a little hopeful. tongue.gif

Yes, I was being overly optimistic. Also, taking that 3.5" LCD and blowing it up to 120" is going to have a picture that's made out of lego brick sized pixels.
