Hello all,
I have a Helios/neodigits H400 upscaling DVD player. And I seem to have lost my remote. The darn thing is stuck on an incorrect scan rate, and there's no way to get into the osd menu without the remote(i think).

I was very bummed to find out that neodigits went under completely, and have no web support what-so -ever. And I cant seem to find any info on codes for a universal remote. Anyone happen to know, or could suggest an inexpensive universal remote that may be able to "learn" the thing.

Thanks in advance!

Yosh.

Start looking for a universal remote, or contact the manufacturer.

I lost the remote for a Panasonic DVD player. I called in to buy another and they just mailed me one, free of charge. (I already had a universal remote, and had it programmed.) The only function that the universal remote couldn't do that the factory one could is eject the DVD tray. The only reason that was an issue was becasue my cat liked to play with the DVD tray when it opened and closed. biggrin.gif (Thinking back on it, I'm amazed that I didn't burn out the motor...)

Thanks SG,
Nice kitty.
Unfortunately the manufacturer is totally off the map. I have not tried my normal cable remote yet(cox), because it was not in the list of manufacturers in the manual. However I did just find a chapter on programing non listed devices. Maybe it will work?
Was your universal remote something nice, like that Harmony thing from Logitech, or just a run of the mill universal?

My universal remote is just a generic one. Nothing that special, though it does have a learning function, where you can train it with the original remote, if the code for what you want to do doesn't already exist.

Hey Yoshua,

I have the same DVD player. I use a OFA universal that is JP-1 compatible, so I was able to load NeuNeo (old Helios co. name) codes in with the computer. Anyway, I can loan you my Helios remote for a little while if you pay for postage and promise to send it back. Or I can advise on how to acquire and program a similar universal remote.

I'm leaving town for a few days but will check this thread and my PMs when I get back...
