Full Version: which WUXGA/controller boards offer color calibration?

I've purchased a number of WUXGA panels and controller cards (I actually use them as very high DPI, compact monitors); one thing that I've noticed is that some of the less expensive controller cards offer almost no picture controls: no brightness, no contrast, and certainly no color tweaking.

Some of the work I do requires color accuracy; while I've given up hope of finding a WUXGA IPS panel, I was hoping that at the least I could find a controller board that will be a bit more cooperative with respect to picture settings.

Any advice?

You might want to try manhattanlcd.com. He's restocked his 1080p 15.4 LCD Kits.
I've read elsewhere on the forum that the 15.4 WUXGA Pixelworks controllers are said to be compatible with all 15.4 WUXGA panels. I'd recommend verifying that with manhattanlcd, though.

The MST offers the most color adjustments through a "hidden menu" Types 2008 on the remote to enter it.

At least as good as I can remember that is smile.gif

It looks like there is one available for $400 that claims to have advanced color control. That's too much money considering the circumstances.

I gotta knock johnzo (aka manhattan lcd) a little bit here: in the past, he's been reliable about shipping orders, but there is effectively no communication. If he were not the only game in town, his communication is so bad that it would probably cost him most of his business. So, confirming anything with him is not going to happen. Also, I did order all my controllers from him in the past - and sure, great, they do work. And sure, he seemed reliable about shipping. But I'm going to have to say that I don't consider it kosher that all some of them can do is put *A* picture up. Forget about changing brightness, contrast, or color temperature.

I don't consider those unusual luxuries at all. Infact if he is going to sell a board that just barely functions, I think that it should be advertised as such.

Let the buyer beware.

That's weird , I've tested basically every controller he sells and I never came across one that you couldn't change brightness and contrast. And all of them had some basic color controls.

Which one didn't?

My 12.1" w/MST that I purchased from him was fully adjustable, as well.
