Hey folks,

I recently purchased a Samsung LN52B550 52" 1080p LCD HDTV and I've previously connected my HP computer with a GeForce 8400 GS video card to the LCD TV via VGA (just bought a DVI to HDMI cable to replace that).

I've noticed that I can clone my desktop from the PC to the TV (with the PC monitor as primary), but that only lets me set a screen resolution on both screens to the PC monitor's 1680 x 1050 max resolution.
If I set the LCD TV as the primary and clone the desktop back to the PC, the colors on the PC monitor are decreased (at least that's what I think I'm seeing) and because of the TV's 1080p resolution, my desktop doesn't fit the PC monitor.
Setting the nView Display Settings to Dual View lets me set the correct resolution for both screens, but it only allows me to extend the desktop to one or the other screen. This doesn't give me the complete desktop on both screens, so this isn't very desirable.

Does anybody know of a way to display the correct resolution on both screens and have the desktop appear on both screens? I've already tried Powerstrip, but it won't allow me to create a custom 1920 x 1080 resolution for my PC monitor. I've done some research online and this doesn't seem to be do-able, but I thought I'd run it by you guys.

I'm thinking the only resolution (no pun intended) would be to buy a replacement PC monitor capable of displaying 1080p. I can pick up a Samsung SyncMaster 2243SWX 21.5" LCD for less than $200.

I had the same problem with my work computer. It has a 7900GS and I wanted to do dual monitor setup. One monitor was 1600x1200 and the other was 1920x1200. I look all over the provided software and found nothing. However, after doing a search online, I found a version of the Nvidia software that allowed me to do it. Now I'm not cloning, only extending but one would think it wouldnt care. Look online and see if you can find nVidia software that will allow it. Also check the nVidia website. Sometime the software on the site is much better than what shipped with the card.

P.S. - I had to set each monitor up separately using the software.

No it can't be done. In my car pc I tried to do this and wound up just having to run everything at the lowest common denominator , ie : the highest resolution they would all accept.

Stinks but PC's and graphics cards just just don't seem to be powerful enough to do it or the manufacturers don't think it's worth the effort to support it.
