Dear LLabs,
I know this has been requested several times before, but I can't find any useful information on it. This is not strictly a projector thread, but the most helpful thread on image flipping was in this category. Please feel free to move this post to a more suitable category if necessary.
I'm trying to flip my monitor horizontally, i.e. left right.
Are there any monitors that do this out of box? Not projectors, just LCD monitors and not LCD controller boards on their own is I can avoid it.
I also ran across this thread
http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/lcd-displa...ot-support.html
that describes several lcd controller ICs where a pin simply has to be connected to ground for the image to be flipped. However these are mainly for smaller in-car displays rather than desktop LCD displays. Can such a simple thing as grounding a specific pin to flip the image be performed on highend LCD controller ICs such as the Genesis ones?
I also saw another thread here that recommended Digital-View SVH-1920 and two Winmate boards.
I know if I wanted to replace my existing LCD controller board with one of the above, there would be the problems of the OSD keys panels and the position of the external connectors. Luckily the SVH-1920 has an infra red module and remote, so I can use that instead of an OSD key panel. For the external connectors, I was thinking of screwing the board onto wood and expoying the wood somewhere further away from the port holes and then using a short DVI cable or one of those splitters to connect to the chassis. Is this a good idea or not?
Finally there is the option of a custom built LCD monitor as many board supplier of custom build services. How much would this cost? Or is this against the spirit of hacktivism in this forum.
Cheers
Rich
