Full Version: LL T15 & UV coating..?
Just to be clear - I seem to remember the conversaion going both ways - does it have a UV coating on the glass?
It would be impossible for me to test without removing the glass from my lamp, and that's not gonna happen, so...
What I do know is that there are still hazardous levels of UV radiation from a LL 6500K lamp at a distance of less than 1m. At a distance of 4m or more the level no longer seems to be dangerous, but is still present.
Since we're putting things at a distance of signifigantly less than 1m, I would treat the inside of a projector case as a UV hazard whenever the lamp is on, and additional UV filtering is highly recommended.
